A:I just got an e-mail from a Logitech support, stating that all Logitech webcams are not fully supported in Windows 8.1. In other words, from my experience, the basic webcam functions, e.g. video and audio work, but the advanced features (zoom, pan, tilt, etc.) are inaccessible in Windows 8.1. The Logitech support also essentially said that they do not have a fix for this problem and that they do not know when a fix for it will be available.
Answer 1: I installed one of these cameras in the main conference room of my previous workplace. The lens was able to capture the entire room well, and the built-in microphone did a fantastic job of picking up all the voices, including voices of those sitting furthest in the back. In fact, the built-in microphone did a much better job than the specialized conference calling unit that sat on the conference table. If you wish to setup in a video conferencing scenario in a business workplace or a classroom, you will not be disappointed.
Answer 2: You can make a video and upload it onto Youtube, but the audio capture isn't that great. I'm sure that you would be heard all that jazz but you could probably do better with an actual camera that records video. Another problem is the file format. I believe that the higher quality video is saved as a certain type of file that doesn't upload well to Youtube. It took 2+mins to upload a 20sec video to Youtube because it had to be converted.
A:Yes it is. In fact, it has the most convenient method of attaching to the monitor on the market - on top of the wide screen thin LCD monitor. Un-fold the base of the webcam and hang it on the upper bar of the screen. Very easy.
A:How long you can record is based on how much storage space can be divided by the file size. The higher the quality the more space it takes per frame.
"How many hours of uncompressed video on 1 Terabyte disk?
Answer: An hour of standard video takes up about 1GB, while an hour of high-definition video consumes 4GB"
A:It can pivot up and down. As for side to side you will either need to buy a stand for it or place it on your monitor top and move your monitor.
A:Digital zoom works fine. You can zoom in with the Logitech software and it will stay zoomed for other apps.
A:Yes, I'm using it with Windows 10. Note, I don't use the camera's microphone (I use a Yeti) I had to reset the microphone default back to the Yeti after going to 10. It assumed the webcam mic was the default.
A:It has an lon screen remote to zoom in and out yes.
A:I have a Hackintosh and this seems to work well out of the box when it comes to video.
Things you should know:
1. The c920 microphone doesn't work out of the box. You have to configure the computer to use the C920 microphone.
Go to System Preferences->Sound->Input-> (and under Select a device for sound input, select) c920
Cons Conclusion: The microphone is decent. Luckily I had a usb microphone lying around and the quality improved drastically while using FaceTime and PhotoBooth.
2. If you have the application, AirParrot, on your Mac. The driver will conflict with Logitech's working functionality. I recommend to remove it since it's a hassle. If you don't have AirParrot then it should be working out of the box. All credit goes to "Sciacallo" from http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/126028-updated-10-9-2-camera-issues-3.html
"I've resolved the issue, the problem for me is the app AirParrot that mirrors my Hacintosh to Apple TV. The kext video and audio driver of this app, seem to be incompatible with 10.9.2 update the webcam. If you have this or a similar application remove them.
I uninstalled the app and the kext, with this terminal commands:
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.squirrels.AirParrot.plist
sudo rm -rf /Applications/AirParrot.app
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
After the commands are executed, reboot the system and try your webcam, my Logitech C310 now works like a charm! "
A:I believe you can find driver software for this webcam by going to the Logitech website and clicking on product support. There is a download available for this webcam.
A:No, it requires a power source via the USB connection there's no additional way to power it.
A:The camera comes with a 6 foot USB cord. I also run a 50 foot extension cable on it with no problem.
